The surrounding countryside is completely unspoiled - you can still see prehistoric field systems. There are more ancient sites in this small part of Cornwall than any comparable area in Western Europe.

From the front door there are walks down the Lamorna Valley to the Cove, on to the coastal path and the quaint fishing harbour of Mousehole, and to the Merry Maidens stone circle.

The magnificent beaches of Sennen, Porthcurno, Porthgwarra, Gwynver and Pedne Vounder are nearbye and there are lots more secluded coves to explore..

Penzance, a good town for browsing, is five miles, and St Michael's Mount and St Ives are within twenty minutes.
