Facilities

We only ever hire to one group at a time.

 Group room details:

·      dimensions 27' x 18'

·      pitch pine sprung floor

·      carpeted

·      four speaker CD/cassette sound system

·      dry-wipe board and flip chart

·      full central heating

·      woodburning stove

·      12 wall-mounted variable angle spotlights on dimmer switch.

·      lots of cushions, indoor plants, and a Buddha.

 There is an attractive conservatory attached to the grouproom which is useful as extra group space.

 The estate can accommodate up to 26 people. 

·      There are 6 bedrooms in the main house (4, 4, 4, 4, 2 and a double),  

·      and a Gypsy Caravan (single/small double). 

·      A separate cottage near the main house sleeps up to 4. It is normally used for holiday letting. If you have a particularly large group, it may be possible to make this available as well if you let us know in good time.

 Bathroom facilities include 2 baths, 2 showers, 4 toilets and 5 washbasins. (The cottage has its own bathroom, kitchen and living room). Bed linen and duvets are provided.

 Breakfast is serve-yourself and unlimited hot drinks are available. A payphone is available for the use of group members. The centre has photocopying, fax and email facilities.  

Outside

 The grounds extend to 7 acres with lawns, woodland, streams and what can best be described as Cornish jungle (creepers, bamboo and giant ferns). Near the main house is a 2000 year old underground temple - the fogou, a scheduled site, and the subject of Jo May’s book ‘Fogou - A Journey into the Underworld’ (Gothic Image).

A bronze age stone circle, the Merry Maidens, is ten minutes walk. The centre is one mile from the sea and some of the finest beaches and walks in Cornwall are virtually on the doorstep. For seekers of connections with the past, there are more ancient sacred sites here than in anywhere else in Western Europe. 

Prices (2003) 

42 GBP per person daily.

Discount rate for groups of 16 or more:  40 GBP pp daily.

Numbers above include the group leader/s.

 “Daily” includes 3 meals. Groups can arrive for an evening meal and depart after lunch on their last day. The first and last day together will then count as “one day”.

Meals are vegetarian to a high standard. Special diets can be catered for if you let us know in advance.

Depending on availability, Bed and Breakfast is possible for group members wanting to arrive early or stay on (19 GBP).

Breakfast is self-service, and prices include unlimited teas and coffees.  

Publicity

We can assist with promoting your workshop by including it in our programme and mailshots. Please ask for details of deadlines, space, etc. Inclusion of your event in the Programme is free of charge.  

Bookings 

We require a deposit of 100 GBP per day payable at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable.
